I personally don’t like peeps. I always seem to end up with some, and I’m sure this year Aerie will enjoy eating them. I was sitting in the pediatrician’s office today and saw a box of peeps. I don’t know if I was subconsciously craving chocolate, or if my newfound love for cooking and baking made me think of how to use them efficiently, but I suddenly came up with a GREAT idea. Peep Smore’s. Yum. A quick Google search revealed that I wasn’t the first one to come up with this idea (check out this site), but it still sounds yummy nonetheless.
All you need is graham crackers, Hershey’s Chocolate Bars, and Peeps. The amount is up to you! Preheat your oven to 350. Line a cookie sheet with foil. Break your graham crackers into squares and arrange them on the cookie sheet. Top each graham cracker square with your desired amount of chocolate (I say the more, the better!) and a peep. Bake for about 5-7 minutes. I like my marshmallows a little more toasted, but just keep checking on them until they are baked to your liking. The peeps will puff up a little bit. If you’d like, top it with another graham cracker and enjoy. I know Aerie will do the open faced version, and eat it without the “top.”
I also found this super cute craft/gift idea online that I am going to do with Aerie. She’s really into “baking” and helping out around the kitchen so I know she will love it.
Now go get yourself some Peeps, ya’ll!
